the resonator
An all wood resonator with a true arched back and an open 'stone henge' structure to allow full sound movement yields a crisp sound with a great attack for slide blues as well as contemporary playing styles. This traditional instrument is remarkable for it's warm and full bass tones combined with a sweet and clear treble.
The one shown is in figured Bigleaf Maple with Ebony fingerboard and paua abalone purfling. It also features a custom inlay for Sam Whittingham, bike builder. His logo for Naked Cycles inlaid in pearl on a 'bullet' style Ebony peghead, complemented by a silver wire border.
Currently I am building a resonator with a 14th fret body join, something I am sure a lot of slide players will appreciate. Check back soon for pics of the progress.
